Ascension Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER) makes
donation to Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Christmas Crusade for Children

 

Donaldsonville - The Ascension Parish Chemical Industry Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER) Committee is pleased to make its annual donation to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Christmas Crusade for children stated CAER Chairman James E. LeBlanc.

The CAER Committee, which is an Industry Committee made up of the following Chemical Facilities Baker Hughes, BASF, Westlake Chemical, Potash, Hexion, Veolia, Air Products, REG., Pipeline Technology, Enterprise Pipeline, Eastman, Innophos, Shell, Oxy, Kinder Morgan, Methanex, Lion Elastomers, Motiva, CF Industries, Praxair, IMTT, Rubicon, Univar, Honeywell, NOVA Chemicals, Syngenta, Total, and Air Liquide is pleased to make this donation to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Christmas Crusade for children for well over twenty years, stated LeBlanc.

 

The Industrial CAER Committee is a proud supporter of many community projects across our Parish, stated LeBlanc. CAER supports the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Haz-Mat Team, Ascension Parish Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness, Wally Wise Guy Shelter-In-Place in all Ascension Parish Schools, the Emergency Preparedness Guide (found in the local phone books), stated LeBlanc.

 

 

 

With the assistance of CAER, we are also able to support the systems that Ascension Parish has in place to alert our Industry neighbors in the unlikely event of an emergency. These include the network of sirens that our community may hear on Mondays at noon, stated LeBlanc. CAER is also responsible for the First Call computerized telephone alerting system, 1590 AM emergency information broadcast station and television emergency alert broadcasting system, stated LeBlanc.

 

 

 

By supporting these Ascension Parish Programs and Systems, the Industrial CAER Group continues to work closely with the Ascension Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office to strive for a community that is well educated in the Shelter In Place steps and that is well equipped to contend with any emergency that we may face in Ascension Parish, stated LeBlanc.
